More about this braid
This braid has been hand painted using acid dyes in my home studio. Hand painting is time consuming as I can only paint one braid at a time, as a result each is totally unique in its colour shade/placement. This particular Breed of Merino is from the Falkland Isles is and is non mulesed. It is 18.5 Micron, very soft, perfect for those who find wool a little irritable on the skin. As a result it felts easily.
Dyeing fibre this fine requires skill and patience. It’s taken me many years of practice to retain soft fluffy fibres when applying such rich vibrant colour. Before you use I suggest teasing it apart again a little after transit to add air back into the fibre for a fluffier spin.
I have done my best to rinse any excess dye from this braid till the water runs clear, however if you do find any bleeding it will stop after a few washes. Hand wash in cold water.
